Mettet (Belgium) 5 October 2024 – The first Junior race took place on Saturday. At the end of the time practice Andrea Benvenuti (KTM Mtr Racing) came home with the pole position making people believe the Italian rider would have been the protagonist of a solo race, however, the race saw the resolute victory of Nathan Terraneo (KTM). The rider took the lead of the standings and with just one race to go, anything can still happen.

The qualifying of the final round of the European Championship saw Andrea Benvenuti (KTM Mtr Racing) back to track after the injury sustained in Romania. In only 22 days, the Italian rider was able to recover his shape. After the free practice, where he could not do his best, Benvenuti took the pole position with a gap of almost 5 tenths of a second dividing him from Nathan Terraneo (KTM), while red plate holder Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) finished in third place. The Ukrainian rider was the victim of a crash which affected his performance.

Andrea Benvenuti could not make the best out of his pole position, so Nathan Terraneo took the lead of the operations. The Swiss rider’s race pace was impressive from the first moment and this allowed him to take a solid advantage and cross the finish line with a solid margin. Benvenuti, still not in top shape, tried to reach the leader but could not keep up with his same rhythm. After a tough start, Yevsevii Kovalov had to work hard to recover and ended up third. At the end of this first race, Nathan Terraneo moved to the top of the Championship standings 3 points ahead of Kovalov and 4 ahead of Benvenuti.
