Busca – 29 June 2024 – Unstable weather conditions did not stop the riders enrolled in the S1GP World Championship, who put on a show in front of the crowd at the Busca Kart Planet. Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing Tm Moto) came home with the first victory of the weekend while Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing) was second and Elia Sammartin (Team Gazza Racing) third.
Time practice & Superpole S1GP
Luckily time practice and Superpole took place with dry track conditions. The qualifying saw the hard-fought duel between Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) and Elia Sammartin (Team Gazza Racing) as the duo was divided by only 35 milliseconds which announced a thrilling battle for the Superpole. Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing) struggled to find the right feeling and set the third best time only in the final minutes. Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing), Steve Bonnal (Team 11) and Tim Slazai (Team 11) rounded off the top six of best riders battling it out for the pole position.
At this third round, Marc Reiner Schmidt did not make any mistakes in the fast lap and came home with his first pole position of the season. Elia Sammartin confirmed the second spot and Thomas Chareyre was third. Steve Bonnal recovered one position finishing with the fourth spot, while Avila was fifth and Slazai sixth.
The best Rookie of the qualifying was once again Spanish Julen Avila Cortes.

Race One
The first race of the weekend began with a twist. A few seconds before the start rain began to fall but riders decided to use slick tyres hoping it was just a temporary situation of unstable weather. At the start Elia Sammartin (Team Gazza Racing) pulled away and took the lead of the pack but his lead only lasted for a few corners. Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) overtook his rival in the main straight moving to the front chased by Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing), who prevailed over the Italian rider taking the second place.
After a few laps rain started to fall heavily, and riders had to be careful in order to avoid mistakes. Chareyre took advantage of the situation and overtook the German rider. It only rained for a few laps and as track conditions started to improve, Schmidt got his race pace back as well as the lead. Thomas Chareyre tried to take the position back without succeeding. Marc Reiner Schmidt finished the race with a narrow victory over his main rival.
In the Rookie class Julen Avila Cortes (KTM MTR Racing) worked his way up after a tough start and qualified with third place.
