GRAN PRIX OF COMUNITAT VALENCIANA READY TO START AN AMAZING SEASON

Albaida (Spain), 26 March 2025 – The 2025 season of the FIM SuperMoto World and European Championship will start in just a few days. The Championship will feature several changes and it will kick off in Albaida, with the Gran Prix of Comunitat Valenciana.

Defending World Champion Marc-Reiner Schmidt joined Team Undici, a young private team equipped with TM bikes. After the first tests with his new team, Marc is confident and is sure he will be the outstanding rider, his teammate will be the Czech Jan Ulman.

TM will supply their factory bikes to TSV Team managed by Vladimiro Leone, with his three riders: young Steve Bonnal, pupil of Thomas Chareyre – who will be there as a trainer – Tom Bessieres, another member of Thomas’ Academy, and Romain Kaivers.

Another rider, whose comeback is very welcome, is Austrian Lukas Hollbacher. After spending 2024 fully recovering his physical shape, the rider will line up at the start with his Schruf Racing team supported by KTM. Jules Avila Cortes, the revelation of the past Championship, will be again part of the MTR team and will try to improve his fifth place in the standings. One more rider who switched team, but not bike, is Elia Sammartin. After the amazing past season the rider joined the BRT Team who is back to the World Championship after a few years of absence, always supported by Honda RedMoto.

Confirmed Jonas Nedved with the Czech TMS Tuning Motorsport Team, the swiss Mitja Krasniqi this season will be part of Smot Racing Team, the franchman Axel Puech this year will be PMA rider and the italian Michael Vertemati with Nicot Vertemati.

Wild card of the event with some others many riders will be the Spanish Ferran Cardus, SGR Team who will do his best on his country soil.

The race format remains almost the same, with three races, one of which is scheduled on Saturday. However, the qualifying race will be revolutionized: it will begin with the Q2 with all the riders on track and after an initial selection, the riders left will race the Q1 where the three best challengers will battle it out for the superpole.

The absolute novelty of the 2025 season is the S2 European Championship reserved for riders on 250 4-stroke and 125 2-stroke machineries. The new class was created in order to make a bridge with the SM Junior and S1GP. It looks like riders enjoyed this experiment a lot and joined the Championship looking forward to reaching their final goal. Nathan Terraneo, who triumphed in the SM Junior in 2024, will try to be the protagonist also in this new category which will be part of the Spanish round as well as the GP of Hungary and the GP of Piemonte in Busca.

In the SM Junior, the Ukrainian rider Yevsevii Kovalov will try to come home with the title. The SM Junior will be part of all the races of the Championship.
