Albaida – 29 March – The newborn S2 class was all ruled by French riders with Giani Catorc (GasGas) ruler of the qualifying as well as the first race. Second place went to Melvin Viola (Honda) and third spot was taken by Adrien Sarda (Honda). In the SM Junior the pole position went to Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna).
S2 Time Practice:
The first qualifying session of the newborn S2 category saw the triumph of Giani Catorc (GasGas). The French rider, who joined the S1 World Championship in the past, decided to focus on the category of the small-displacement bikes for the current season also taking into account his young age. Second place was reached by another French rider, Adrien Sarda (Honda), and Melvin Viola (Honda) rounded off the front row. The SM Junior European Champion Nathan Terraneo (GasGas) got to the track with his 125 two-stroke bike but still has to find the right feeling with the new engine size and category, so he had to feel happy with the sixth place.

S2 Race 1:
The first S2 race was totally ruled by French Giani Catorc who left no space for rivals. After an excellent start where he kept his position, the extraordinary rider’s race pace allowed him to open a solid gap and control the race. Second qualified was Melvin Viola and third place went to Adrien Sarda. At the end of a great battle for fifth place, Matas Leckas prevailed over Terraneo and Serra Ginesta.

SM Junior Free Practices
The young riders of the SM Junior competed in the first practices. Ukrainian Yevsevii Kovalov (Husqvarna) was the best rider of the category thanks to the fastest time. Kovalov, who battled it out for the title till the final race the past season, is determined to be the best rider and is showing his potential. The rider was chased by German Lorenz bang (KTM) and Zsolt David Bereczki (Husqvarna) set the third best time.

SM Junior Time practice:
In the qualifying Kovalov’s race pace was completely different from his rivals’ one. Thanks to a thrilling rhythm the rider took the pole position after the first laps. Behind him, the other riders battled it out for second place which went to Lorenz Bang, followed by Mark Luca Iovita.
