Cerghid (Romania) – 8 September – Marc-Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) was the author of another solo race and a perfect weekend thanks to a pole position and three solid victories which left very little to his rivals. Second place went to Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing) and third position to Elia Sammartin (Gazza Racing). In the S1 Rookie Cup Julen Avila Cortes (KTM Mtr Racing) took back the lead of the standings despite being back from an injury.
S1GP Fast Race
In the second race of the GP of Romania Marc-Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) made no mistakes at the start and immediately moved to first place in the first corner. Thanks to a thrilling race pace the rider opened the perfect gap over chasers in order to secure the victory. Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing) tried to reach him but without making it and could never get close enough to his rival. The French rider focused on a flawless race and had to feel happy with the second place. There was a hard-fought battle for third place till the checkered flag between Elia Sammartin (Gazza Racing) and Steve Bonnal (Team 11). The Italian rider stayed strong for the 12 laps of the race and came home with third place thanks to just one tenth of a second. Bonnal seemed to have a faster race pace but never launched the decisive attack.
In the S1 Rookie Cup, Julen Avila Cortes (KTM Mtr Racing) faced the race despite the pain and came home with the victory. Gabin Pernat (TM Moto) took second place and young Jan Ulman (Team 11) qualified third.

Elia Sammartin put in a phenomenal start as the red lights blinked off thanks to a perfect maneuver which allowed him to take the lead in the first corner. Marc-Reiner Schmidt had to defend himself also from Thomas Chareyre who tried to overtake him, but the German rider opened the gas and took second place.
Elia Sammartin led the race for just one lap before being overtaken by strong Schmidt. Later the Italian also had to surrender to Thomas Chareyre who took the position away from him. Marc-Reiner Schmidt had an unbeatable rhythm, and nobody could bother him. A little imperfection in the final part of the race could have cost him dear but it did not affect his performance, so the World Champion won with a solid margin.
Thomas Chareyre ended up in second place, Elia Sammartin was third.
Marc-Reiner Schmidt confirmed the red plate and now has a 48-point advantage in the standings and one more race to go.
Julen Avila Cortes triumphed in the S1 Rookie Cup thanks to the three victories and moved back to the top of the standings.
