KAISER MARC REINER SCHMIDT RULER OF THE GP OF GERMANY

Sankt Wendel 18 August – Perfect weekend for Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) who took a double victory in Sunday’s races and came home with the title of the GP of Germany thanks to three solid triumphs. Steve Bonnal (Team 11) was second qualified with the best result of the season and third place went to Elia Sammartin (Gazza Racing). The victory of the Rookie class was taken by German Eddy Frech (KTM); Julen Avila Cortes (KTM Mtr Racing) did not take part in the races because of the injury to his collarbone suffered in Saturday’s race.

S1GP Fast Race

As the red lights went off at the start of the Fast Race Elia Sammartin (Gazza Racing) made a mistake and was overtaken by rivals at the first corner. The Italian rider was fourth in the first lap, with Steve Bonnal (Team 11) leader of the pack for the first lap only. Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Moto) left no chances to Bonnal and opened a gap thanks to a thrilling race pace, eventually managing the race in the final part. Sammartin qualified with third place. Thomas Chareyre (SGR Grau Racing) started from eighth place and worked his way up trying to recover as much ground as possible eventually finishing fourth. In the Rookie class Julen Avila Cortes (KTM Mtr Racing) missed the race because of the injury suffered in Race One. The best of the class was German Eddy Frech (KTM), who finished in front of Gabin Pernat (TM Moto) and Tim Slazai (Team 11).
