Mettet (Belgium), 4 October 2023 – This amazing racing season has come to its final race after seeing three main protagonists battling it out throughout the whole year for the World Champion title.
The Supermoto is going back to its origins for this final appointment scheduled at the city circuit of Mettet, an historic location scene of the most beautiful European by-invitation-races. This circuit welcomed very famous riders of the road racing world as well as the off-road, so this means it will host another thrilling show.
Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing Tm Factory) and Lukas Hollbacher (MTR Ktm Racing) will fight for the World title as they are only separated by 3 points. Thomas Chareyre (TC4R1 Racing Team) unfortunately will not be present at the match due to an injury suffered during a training session.
In this season the three riders came home with GP victories, with Lukas Hollbacher reaching the top of the podium three times. A victory each went to Schmidt and Chareyre.
Marc Reiner Schmidt made a mistake in Bulgaria and a technical problem in Spain slowed him down in the latest GPs facilitating Lukas Hollbacher who was able to recover.
With three more races to dispute, only the fastest one who has the nerve will come home with the 2023 title.
Penultimate appointment for the SM Junior, which has been featured by two protagonists: defending Champion Matej Kokes and Andrea Benvenuti.
In the last race in Catalunya Andrea Benvenuti had to pass the red plate to his closest rival, Matej Kokes. Also in this category the gap between first and second qualified is small, just 5 points. The duo will be chased by Nathan Terraneo, who will fight for victory as well.
